Welcome to the Socrates Academy Chess Club!  

Come play Chess and speak English with us!!

• Short lecture, chess video analysis, or presentation in English by players and members

• Chess study, analysis, and training in English

• Blitz, rapid, or longer classical game training and practice

• Snacks, coffee, tea, and other free drink service

1st Chess Club/Circle at Socrates Academy!

Date: Saturday, 2025/06/06

Time: 12:30-15:00

Who: Play or learn chess with players rated between 1900-2300 on Chess.com or Lichess.org. One member is a beginner elementary school student. All are welcome, especially players who want to improve!

Equipment: Projector or magnetic white board for lectures or analysis by players.

Bring: Please bring extra chess sets or clocks! We have 1 tournament set and clock at Socrates Academy and members are encouraged to bring their own sets.

Fee: 1,000 yen fee per player or member for our 1st Socrates Academy Chess Club session!

Parking: Please use nearby coin parking if coming by car. Bicycle parking available (2 spaces). 

Contact: Email info@socratesacademy.org to tell us you're joining. It's a small to medium size space, but we have 4 tables and can fit around 10 people. You can come directly on the day of the Chess Club, but please email first if possible.
